Iowa Digestive Disease Center has origins dating back to 1972 when Diagnostic Gastroenterology Associates was incorporated. Several physicians joined the group over the following years finally resulting in the eleven physicians and 4 advanced practice nurses we have today. In 1999 the group changed its name to Iowa Digestive Disease Center to better reflect the scope of care and services provided.
IDDC serves local community as health practitioners and educators. As practitioners IDDC physicians endeavor to bring awareness about colon cancer and Inflammatory Bowel Disease to the community through our Annual Colon Cancer Run and through our IBD Support Group called ‘Doc in the Box’.
Iowa Digestive Disease Center and Iowa Endoscopy Center has a long partnership with HEARTLAND Medical Research, Inc., engaging in research for the betterment of patient care. IDDC providers currently participating in twelve clinical trials – all focusing on improving care and outcomes.
Current trials focus on multiple drug trials and conditions including:

- Inflamatory Bowel Disesae
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome
- Crohns
- Chronic Constipation
- Liver Disease
